WordPress for Teens

I recently had the good fortune to find myself working with Molli Ong, a mother and Project Manager who had come up with a fantastic idea to work with teens to help them start their own online businesses.

Teen WordPress TrainingMolli felt that these teens could better spend their time learning something useful rather than hang out in shopping centres all day, spending money.

So I was engaged to facilitate a group training session for a group of teenage girls who were ready and willing to learn!

Here’s a brief outline of our day:

  • Keyword research/product selection
  • Purchase domain names
  • Set up hosting
  • Link hosting and domains together
  • Install WordPress and choose themes
  • Creating posts and pages
  • Entering product details
  • Much much more

DSC01560With the limited time we had, each girl had a brand new website with products listed.  I provided the girls with tips and strategies to help them attract visitors to their websites, and each walked away with a step by step guide to help them the next time they wanted to build a new website.

While we were only able to touch on the basics of building an online business, what we covered on this day is a good grounding for their futures and I can really see them succeeding in the future if they commit to do so.

I found… a blog search engine – which generate cellular phone search engine services. What is the best cellphone search engine?
